Pre-training

Pre-training will be a major part of this workshop introduction and will help participants to feel comfortable with unfamiliar elements. People learn better when they receive pre-training concerning names and characteristics of key components in advanced learning environments (Mayer, 2009). The concepts that will be provided to participants in this workshop will be complex. Therefore, Pre-training will be needed to effectively provide advanced teaching for my participants. Pre-training will comprise an open forum discussion on names and characteristics of key components in my workshop such as defining and briefly discussing flipped classroom instruction as well as quickly describing what Mayer's cognitive theory of multimedia learning with his triarchic model of 12 design principles are all about. Participants will also learn how to give a professional look to their document and how to convert a PowerPoint presentation into a video .http://www.wikihow.com/Deliver-Effective-PowerPoint-Presentation and http://youtu.be/0t3EqrPQJqg This will help prepare participants for the authentic assessment near the end of the workshop.

The following is an example of an effective multimedia message. This will be used as part of my pre-training and may also be used by participants as a guide to completing the authentic assessment.
